Dangote Cement Plc is beating its chest forleading an initiative that crashed the price ofcement by about 40 percent. The move by themarket leader cut cement price from aboutN2,000 to N1,300. The cement companyexplained the rationale behind its action on aday it empowered distributors with about 150trucks. The trucks will aid the supply ofcement to Dangote Cement Plc retailers. The150 trucks represent the first phase of thetrucks to be given to distributors. Another setof 250 trucks will get to the market leader’sdistributors, according to the Group ChiefMarketing Officer of Dangote Group, OareOjeikere, under the second phase of the TruckEmpowerment Scheme
